May Roofing has been involved in a series of particularly prestigious projects in the health and pharmaceutical industry, including roofing and cladding for pharmaceutical giants such as Guidant, Wyeth and Warner Lambert.

 

Wyeth

Wyeth Biotech Campus on a 90 acre site at Grange Castle in South County Dublin is a €1.8 billion investment in one of the worlds largest integrated biopharmaceutical campuses and is the only facility in Europe to manufacture biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals and vaccines within the same facility.

The scale of the construction challenge was enormous – to build on of the worlds largest integrated biopharmaceutical campuses in 33 months. The 111,500m² campus has 60,000m² of FM approved Sika Trocal single-ply roofing membranes on Kingspan TR26 insulation on 1000 gauge vapour check and on 1.2mm thick Tegral metal deck or concrete screeds, the roofing membrane and insulation were mechanically fixed by over 800,000 SFS Stadler stress plates and isofast fasteners.

Pharmaceutical

We supplied all the roof mounted smoke ventilation systems, access hatches, fall arrest systems, rooflights, rain water outlets, soil ventilators and all weathering and waterproofing ancillaries.

The Campus has been designed to the have highest architectural quality and aesthetic appeal befitting a dynamic modern setting for the manufacture of breakthrough medicines. It takes its inspiration from a university Campus seeking to reflect the quality and ambiance suitable for a high tech biopharmaceutical manufacturing and development operation. We successfully completed this large and complex roofing contract on programme and within budget.
